VitaClaus Freudenstein is a very imaginative and creative musician, who, having completed comprehensive contrabass and e-bass studies, knows no musical bounds.
Currently his focus is on the work with his Ensemble "The Bassmonsters" Their latest recording "Classic meets Rock" got a great review in the worldfamous magazine "The Strad".

In April 2014 Claus played with "Deep Purple" in the Royal Albert Hall (London).
He appeared at the Bavarian State Opera House, with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Teneriffe Symphony Orchestra and many more. He also played in numerous musicals and Bands on Doublebass and Electric Bass.
In Februry 2014 Claus was appointed as "Director on the Board" of the International Society of Bassists (ISB)
The release of his video production "netclip" in april 2014 is a cutting-edge climax of his artistic work.
In addition, Claus Freudenstein writes articles for specialist literature such as "Arbeitshilfen des Deutschen Musikschulverbandes" and composes music for his instruments.
Beside his work as musician and teacher, Claus is working as a composer and arranger for "Friedrich Hofmeister Verlag" and writes articles for specialist literature such as "Arbeitshilfen des Deutschen Musikschulverbandes".
His second book "Minibass" was published in March 2014 at the Frankfurt Music fair and earned worldwide popularity. In fall 2012 his christmas arrangements for doublebass quaretett entitled "It´s Christmas" appeared at Hofmeister Verlag Leipzig/Germany (No. FH 3485 / ISBN Number 9790203434856).
Between 25th and 28th of october 2014 Claus organizes the "1. Bavarian Bassdays" in the city of Mühldorf a. Inn and invites international renowned professors / doublebass soloists like Szymon Marciniak, Emilio Yeppes and Philipp Stubenrauch.
The british publisher "Recital" released music of the composer "John Alexander" that is especially composed for Claus Freudenstein. It is titled "edifice" and got it´s worldpremier in 2013 in England. Claus played it also in Tijuana/ Mexico and will play it in 2014 in Hong Kong.
He also held special classes für Minibass at Mühldorfer Sommerakademie which was attended by students from all over bavaria and even from Don in Russia OVB Online - Vom Don an den Inn.
held a Masterclass for the first time at CONTRABAJOS DE BAJA CALIFORNIA A.C. in Tijuana/Mexico in August 2013 and was invited as a lecturer and creative artist to the ISB (International Society of Bassists) in Rochester / New York.
He has played in symphony and opera orchestras, musical productions, bands and a wide range of ensembles. He plays nearly all styles of music with instinctive assurance.
EducationClaus Freudenstein was born in Altötting (Upper Bavaria) on April 25, 1972.
After graduating from secondary school, he worked as a tax official for the state of Bavaria. He started to play the e-bass at the age of 19.
After taking lessons from different teachers for two years, he enrolled at the Bass School of Munich (BSM).
It was only then, at the age of 22, that he discovered the contrabass.
Following in-depth studies with Arpad György and Dorin Marc, at the age of 24 he enrolled at the Leopold Mozart Konservatorium in Augsburg and studied under the tutelage of Franz Maier Musiol. He then continued his studies at the College of Music in Munich and at the Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium under Thomas Jauch, Matthias Weber and Klaus Trumpf.
He was further inspired by classes held by Frank Reinicke and Francóis Rabbath.
